Sandy Williams Justice Center, Free Walk-In Legal Clinics

The organizers have arranged mobile Free Walk-In Legal Clinics at various locations throughout Spokane County during the months of April, May, and June, providing easily accessible legal assistance in a variety of civil legal matters, assistance with forms and procedures, and referral to additional resources. In addition to Sandy Williams Justice Volunteer attorneys and legal professionals, the Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition (SRDVC) will provide free legal advocates to assist participants with domestic violence-related legal matters like protection orders. The Legal Clinics in Spokane are a remarkable example of the power of collaboration among organizations, offering community members a chance to receive free legal assistance. End the Violence Conference

Purple for a Purpose

End the Violence Coalition, along with Stop the Silence Spokane, is excited to bring back the second annual Purple for a Purpose promotion. This month-long event is your opportunity to partner with us to help End the Violence in Spokane and participate in October’s Nationwide Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This year’s theme is: Purple for a Purpose: Spokane Supports Domestic Violence Prevention.
Reports and data have shown us that Spokane experiences higher rates of domestic violence than anywhere else in Washington state. Domestic violence is the leading cause of homicides in Spokane county and calls to law enforcement have increased by 40% over the last year.
Stop the Silence was created in the aftermath of tragic loss. In 2017, Jesseka Frazer-Musson was murdered by her fiancé in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. As her family began working through their grief and trauma, Stop the Silence was formed by Jesseka’s sister Shauna Kennedy-Carr in order to raise funds for local non-profit organizations who provide support and work directly with people impacted by domestic violence. They have successfully raised thousands of dollars to help victims as well as raise awareness through their many events throughout the year.
In October 2021, Stop the Silence partnered with End the Violence Coalition to launch Purple for a Purpose in Spokane. Our first year we partnered with over 40 restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries. This year we are hoping to expand our partnerships and increase awareness in our community. Thank you for being part of this important campaign to raise awareness and much needed funds. It is with your eager participation that we will bring an end to domestic violence in the Spokane region. We look forward to working with you this year!
Purple for a Purpose: Spokane Supports Domestic Violence Prevention is a month-long promotion that highlights purple drinks, foods, and desserts to raise awareness and funds for domestic violence prevention in Spokane.
This year Purple for a Purpose: Spokane Supports Domestic Violence Prevention is going to be even bigger and better! We are prepared to double our participation and invite YOU to join us!
